Getting Started
How do I create an account?
Download the app and sign up with your email address, or continue with Google or Apple. If you sign up with email, you'll receive a verification email to activate your account.
How do challenges work?
You receive one new photo challenge per day. You have one opportunity to take a photo that matches the challenge theme. Once you upload a photo, you'll need to wait for the next day's challenge. Completing challenges daily builds your streak!
Using the App
How do I find friends?
Use the Search tab to find people by their username or display name. You can follow them to see their challenge photos in your Friends feed.
What are flames?
Flames are reactions you can give to photos you like. The more flames a photo receives, the higher it ranks on the daily leaderboard. You can see who reacted to your photos, but there is no feature to see who simply viewed them.
How does the leaderboard work?
The daily leaderboard ranks everyone by how many flames they've received on today's challenge photo. It resets at midnight each day so everyone starts fresh.
How do I change my username?
Go to your Profile tab, tap the settings icon, and look for the username field in the Profile Information section.
Photo & Content
Can I delete a photo after posting?
Yes! Tap the three-dot menu on your photo in the feed and select "Delete Post". This action cannot be undone, and you'll need to wait for the next day's challenge to post again.
What photo formats are supported?
The app supports JPEG and PNG photos. Photos are automatically optimised to reduce file size and improve loading speed before upload.
Privacy & Safety
How do I report inappropriate content?
To report a post or user, email us at whaphotoinfo@gmail.com with the username, a description of the issue, and "Report" in the subject line. We review all reports and respond within 24 hours.
How do I block someone?
Visit the user's profile and tap the three-dot menu in the top right, then select "Block User." Blocked users cannot see your posts, message you, or appear in your feeds. You can manage blocked users in Settings.
Can I make my profile private?
Yes! Go to Settings › Privacy & Notifications and enable "Private Profile." Only your followers will be able to see your photos, and you won't appear in the public Discover feed or search results.
Technical Issues
The app is running slowly
Try closing and reopening the app. If issues persist, restart your device and make sure you have a stable internet connection. Clearing the app cache in your device settings can also help.
Photos won't upload
Check your internet connection and make sure the app has camera permissions in your device settings. If the problem continues, force-close the app and try again. Contact whaphotoinfo@gmail.com if it persists.
I forgot my password
On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot Password" and enter your email address. You'll receive a password reset link — open it on the device where you have Whaphotos installed and follow the prompts to set a new password.
Account
Is Whaphotos free?
Yes! Whaphotos is free to use. We may introduce optional premium features in the future, but the core challenge and social features will always remain free.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings › Danger Zone › Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data, photos, messages, and account information. This action cannot be undone.
